Ector County Coliseum  |  Last reviewed: April 2026  |  Standard: WCAG 2.1 Level AA

Our Commitment

Ector County Coliseum is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards to achieve this goal.

We are working to ensure that our website, ectorcountycoliseum.com, conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, as required under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Conformance Status

Ector County Coliseum is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to address known issues and improve conformance across all pages.

What We Have Done

We have taken the following steps to improve accessibility on our website:

  • Conducted automated accessibility audits using Google Lighthouse, WAVE, and axe DevTools
  • Added keyboard navigation support including a visible skip to main content link
  • Added visible focus indicators for all interactive elements
  • Added accessible names (aria-label) to all icon-only buttons and links
  • Added aria-expanded and aria-controls to all toggle elements (navigation menu, search)
  • Ensured all form inputs have programmatic labels
  • Added alt text to all meaningful images
  • Ensured logical heading structure across all pages
  • Added aria-hidden to decorative images and icons
  • Ensured screen reader announcements for dynamic content (search results)

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas of our website may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Known limitations include:

  • Colour contrast: Some text and UI elements may not meet the minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio. We are working with our design team to address this.
  • Third-party content: Some embedded content from third-party ticketing and event platforms may not fully conform. We are working with our vendors to improve this.
  • PDF documents: Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible. We are working to remediate these files.

We are committed to resolving these issues as quickly as possible and will update this statement as improvements are made.
